SAVI Holguin | Player Profile

Riverton High School | Wyoming Premier Hoops
Class: 2028
Height: 6’0”

John Holguin is the type of player every good team needs. He may not always be the loudest name on the stat sheet, but he brings value through effort, toughness, team first basketball, and the little things that help a team win.

During his freshman season at Riverton High School, John showed that he can contribute in different ways. Across 13 games, he averaged 3.5 points per game while also adding steals, rebounds, and defensive activity. His best posted scoring performance came in Riverton’s 64 to 61 win over Wyoming Indian, where he scored 9 points and helped his team come away with a close victory.

What makes John valuable is his ability to fit into a team and do what is needed. He is a glue guy, the kind of player who brings energy, communicates, plays hard, makes the extra effort play, and helps connect the team on both ends of the floor. Every team needs players who are willing to defend, hustle, move the ball, battle for loose balls, and accept whatever role helps the group succeed.

John’s game is built around effort and reliability. He gives coaches a player who can be trusted to compete, stay active, and bring a positive impact even when the offense is not running through him. Those are the traits that matter in summer basketball, where toughness, attitude, and consistency can separate a player from the rest.

As John continues to develop his confidence, strength, scoring ability, and overall skill set, he has a chance to become an even bigger contributor. This summer with Wyoming Premier Hoops gives him a great opportunity to keep growing, compete against strong competition, and prove that he is a player who can help a team in winning situations.

John Holguin is a young player coming into his own, tough, unselfish, coachable, and willing to do the things every team needs.
